Conduct in Hypoglycemia
INTRODUCTION
For children and adolescents with diabetes and their families, education is a
synonym for life, a healthy future, and most specially, it is a synonym for prevention
against disease complications.
Education in Diabetes is necessary because the disease control will be affected
if patients are not aware of the principles upon which their treatment is based on.
Thus, it is not enough to simply administer insulin on patients, it is also necessary
to educate them, changing their attitudes and making them actively act to control
diabetes, preserving them from hospital stays due to acute complications such
as hypoglycemia (drop in blood sugar) and hyperglycemia (rise in blood sugar),
coma and disease complications.
